Gmünd
Discover the ancient walls in the historic old town or on the castle hill of the medieval town of Gmünd, or wander round the shops and markets there. If you are interested in art there area host of galleries and workshops to be visited . Frequent exhibition openings, events and painting courses take place. And in addition there are museums and an open-air swimming pool.
The Malta Valley
The Malta Valley, known as the ‘Valley of the Tumbling Waters’, is a mecca for outdoors lovers. The broad lower valley is a great place to picnic and the sports-minded visitor will find it an excellent area for jogging or nordic walking. Carinthia’s highest waterfall is an amazing sight and can be enjoyed from all angles from hiking path that circumnavigates it. There is a climbing area , a host of walking paths and mountain huts in which to while away the time. Mountain bike routes and canyoning are also on offer.

Innerkrems
In winter a much-loved family Ski Resort, Innerkrems also has much to offer the summer visitor. Hiking in the Nockberge region is a leisure activity suitable for the whole family. If you are not so good on two feet, use the chair lift to reach some of the most beautiful natural places around.
Katschberg
The largest ski resort in the Liesertal area is Katschberg. But in summer too it is a great place to go. There is a lot for horse lovers and for walkers there are countless paths and routes with places to rest, eat and drink.
Lake Millstatt
Only 6 km from Trebesing is Carinthia’s deepest lake, Lake Millstatt. Bathe, swim or hire a boat, or go the whole way round on a bike or skates. Adults can enjoy all manner of water sports and even a romantic dinner for two on a floating raft can be arranged!.
Spittal
The nearby town of Spittal is the place to go for shopping. Children’s activities take place regularly all year round in the Stadtpark Indoor Shopping Centre, while the grown-ups can enjoy themselves wandering round the wide range of shops. Sometimes the main road is closed for festivals and becomes a pedestrian-only zone. Together with the town park, this creates a large space for culinary events or other activities for young and old.
